Support a Scholar

The American Friends of Attingham raises scholarship funds for U.S.-based students in need of financial assistance to attend Attingham Trust courses and AFA study trips. Alumni who make scholarship donations will also be considered Active Members of the AFA and receive a mailed copy of the semiannual Newsletter.

You may wish to indicate the specific scholarship fund, course, or study trip, you would like to support, but this is not required. Most scholarship gifts are designated by donors to be applied “where needed most.”

We are pleased to announce the creation of the The Dame Rosalind Savill Scholarship, to honor the impactful legacy of our beloved Attingham tutor, Trustee, and friend, Rosalind Savill (1951-2024). The scholarship will be awarded to an early-career scholar or museum professional in the decorative arts to attend the Attingham Summer School or Royal Collections Studies. We are grateful for her family’s blessing to launch this appeal and are delighted to support this worthy cause. If you are the fortunate recipient of an AFA scholarship, the American Friends of Attingham strongly encourages you to make a contribution to your Class Appeal using the link below. There, you can indicate “Class of YYYY Scholarship Fund” in recognition of your cohort. Your donation, no matter the size, will support help support a scholar the very next year.
